Vodafone Idea Prepares for 5G Launch in India

  • Vodafone Idea (Vi), India's third-largest telecom operator, is gearing up to launch 5G services in the country.
  • The company expects to begin offering 5G within the next 6 to 9 months, following the completion of their upcoming public offering (FPO).
  • Funds raised through the FPO will be used for network upgrades and 5G rollout.
  • Vi aims to cover 40% of its revenue base with 5G services within the next 24-30 months.
  • This move comes after rivals Reliance Jio and Bharti Airtel launched 5G services in 2022.
