Zomato Hikes Fee, Pauses Intercity Deliveries

  • Food delivery platform Zomato has increased its platform fee for users by 25%, bringing it to Rs 5 per order in major cities like Delhi, Bengaluru, Mumbai, Hyderabad, and Lucknow.
  • This follows previous increases from Rs 2 to Rs 3 earlier.
  • The fee is separate from delivery charges and applies to all users except Zomato Gold members (who enjoy fee waivers and other benefits).
  • Zomato claims the move will boost earnings.
  • In a separate decision, Zomato has also paused its intercity delivery service, "Legends," due to low customer demand and legal challenges.
