Jio Leads the Charge as India Adds 29.31 Lakh Wireless Subscribers in March!

    • India’s wireless telecom sector saw a net addition of 29.31 lakh subscribers in March, signaling robust growth and fierce competition among operators.

    • Reliance Jio continued its dominance, adding a massive 21.75 lakh new subscribers and further solidifying its position as the country’s largest telecom provider.

    • Airtel followed with a strong performance, gaining 12.51 lakh subscribers and maintaining its grip on the second spot in the market.

    • State-run BSNL made a positive turnaround, adding 49,177 new subscribers after months of losses, showing signs of revival.

    • In stark contrast, Vodafone Idea (Vi) continued to struggle, losing 5.41 lakh subscribers and facing ongoing challenges in retaining its user base.

    • The total wireless subscriber base in India reached 1,163.76 million by the end of March, with the proportion of active users standing at an impressive 92.85%.

    • Urban areas saw a slight dip in wireless subscriptions, while rural regions posted healthy growth, highlighting shifting market dynamics.
